Manager Development Engineering
BIOMET 3i is a leading manufacturer of dental implants, abutments and related products. Since its inception in 1987, BIOMET 3i has been on the forefront in developing, manufacturing and distributing oral reconstructive products, including dental implant components and bone and tissue regenerative materials. The company also provides educational programs and seminars for dental professionals around the world. BIOMET 3i is based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with operations throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
We have an immediate opening for a Manager of Development Engineering to direct, coordinate, and provide functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Using independent judgment and discretion, oversees the design and development of new products, technologies and processes which support departmental and company goals and objectives.
Supervision
Assigns and directs completion of responsibilities by Product Development Engineers. Prepare budgets, plan resources and projects to fulfill departmental and company objectives. Provide coaching and development, prepare performance assessments, development plans and appropriate feedback to maintain a qualified and motivated group.
Customer Contact
Functions as primary technical resource for global customers, including:
- Outside vendors
- Corporate Partners
- Clinicians
- Universities and other engineering, biomaterial or biological firms and entities.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related technical field from a four-year college or university as well as a minimum of 5+ years experience in medical device or product development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be experienced in matrix management and have worked in medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
