POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for configuring, programing, testing and troubleshooting PLC based control systems and associated components (Motion controllers, Heater Controllers, Robots, etc.) Responsible for the User Interface (UI) Design, configuration, programming, testing and troubleshooting of automated equipment. Responsible for designing and maintaining vision system used in production (i.e. Cognex/Keyence). Responsible for designing, integrating and maintaining systems that utilize NFC Labels. Create documentation including, but not limited to design input requirements, specifications, testing protocols, installation, and service procedures. Author acceptance test and validation protocols and reports. Responsible for specific design reviews required to obtain the necessary DIR’s (Design Input Requirement) to build high complex automation equipment for all phases of the design process. Modify existing capital equipment to improve product quality, increase part throughput, decrease cost, and strengthen safety measures. Perform change orders and release processes using Agile. Maintain strict compliance with cGMP, QSR and other applicable Quality Management System standards. Assist Manufacturing Engineering group with troubleshooting floor equipment when required.

+ Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

+ Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR

+ Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR

+ Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.

Knowledge and skills:

+ Proficient in Allen-Bradley PLC ControlLogix Platform and development tools

+ Proficient in software systems using C++, C#, Visual Basic, ASP.NET MVC, Web API.

+ Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a strong technical presence

+ Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical requirements/abilities:

+ Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering field with minimum of 5 years of related work experience

+ Experience developing Medical equipment in an FDA regulated environment

+ Experience troubleshooting complex systems, technologically diverse systems, and capital equipment

+ Experience with a variety of sensor technologies (thermal, optical, position, pressure, flow, etc.)

+ Experience writing/executing IQ, OQ, and PQ Protocols

+ Experience using Agile PLM system

+ Understanding of SQL database
