POSITION SUMMARY:

At Cepheid, we are experiencing a period of tremendous growth as the direct result of successful go-to-market strategies, geographical expansion and new market product introductions. To help support and enable this growth, we are searching for a highly qualified compensation professional who is passionate about compensation, hands on and willing to serve as a business partner and consultant to Cepheid’s HR organization and senior business leaders. The role will be based in the U.S., but will evaluate, analyze and advise on all aspects of global compensation that align with Cepheid’s strategy and intent to attract, reward and retain highly qualified associates.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Act as a compensation business partner, strategic solution provider and expert advisor to business and people leaders by combining in-depth knowledge of compensation principles, understanding of the business and market landscape, and detailed analysis/models

+ Consult with HR business partners on employee compensation-related matters such as pay adjustments, job leveling, and offers for strategic new hires and promotions.

+ Perform proactive data analytics to support various compensation assessments initiatives and provide recommendations to HR and business leadership.

+ Perform ad-hoc market pricing and pay range analysis to inform compensation structures.

+ Apply Danaher’s Global Career and Reward Framework, providing guidance to the organization around job mapping and leveling. Stay connected to Danaher Total Rewards initiatives and drive understanding and adoption within Cepheid. Share with Danaher the challenges and opportunities seen by Cepheid in our various regions related to Total Rewards.Serve as an advocate for both perspectives.

+ Advise HR business partners and business leaders on employment-related law and internal policy to support compliance. Includes performing FLSA analyses and keeping up to date on regulatory as well as internal legal changes.

+ Provide training to HR and management on compensation philosophy, strategy, and practice.

+ Manage compensation programs such as merit planning, variable pay administration, and equity nomination and distribution processes.

+ Collaborate with compensation leaders in various operating companies and the Platform regarding compensation matters such as market pricing, pay adjustments, and talent acquisition.

+ Proactively develop and recommend creative and collaborative solutions for resolving compensation-related issues.

+ Collaborate with HR business partners globally to understand country differences to inform Cepheid’s and the Platform’s compensation policy and processes.

+ Manage Cepheid’s recognition and rewards programs.

+ Support internal and external audits of compensation related matters.

+ Participate in acquisition due-diligence and integration.

+ Ensure compliance with applicable employment-related federal and state statutory requirements regarding employee pay. Stay up-to-date on current compensation-related legislation and trends.

+ Travel required <25%

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

+ Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years’ related experience or, master’s degree with 7+ years’ related experience

+ Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or related certification required

+ Previous experience owning and driving the annual compensation processes required, ideally in a global or multi-regional environment

Knowledge and skills:

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations based on the analysis.

+ Previous experience supporting an annual compensation process either as a compensation analyst or HR business partner.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish/maintain excellent working relationships with business and people leaders at various levels in the organization.

+ Thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment.

+ An ability to shift between high-level design, consulting work, and analytical and operational work.

+ High level knowledge of Compensation practices and principles, pay laws, and regulations.

+ High level of personal integrity and comfortable operating with ambiguity – capable of balancing good governance with high quality client service.

+ Advanced skills in analytics, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

+ Experience with Workday

+ HR Generalist or consulting experience
