Tuas API’s role in the API Network is to support small molecule manufacturing for both PGB and Upjohn segements of PGS API Network. Part of that role is to transfer products from both Barceloneta and Ringaskiddy sites into the Tuas site to support both Network capacity and ensure API supply to patients . This results in the site manufacturing in-line Pfizer and Upjohn API’s for many of Pfizer’s leading medicines.

The Operations Director will demonstrate the appropriate Tuas API leadership behaviours of always being patient focused, demonstrating alignment with Pfizer’s leadership standards as well as encouraging leadership at every level of the organisation.
You will be responsible advancing the PGS Transformation strategies including Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx), Manufacturing Technology, and Digital Innovation, among others.
The Operations Director, leads the operational strategy for the site, have direct responsibility for the Production Plants / Production Services and collaborating with the Site Leadership Team, Site functions , Product teams and our external stakeholders and customers.
The Operations Director will develop and be responsible for delivering a World Class Manufacturing Operation, specifically:
+ Lead the delivery of the agreed Site production plan. Production Plan adherence will be one of the main success measures for this role collaborating with all functions but especially engineering, Quality, Finance and product teams.
+ Ensuring implementation and success of Process Centric teams across the plant following the IMEX Eco System Model
+ Help his / her team develop and deliver a competitive Operation, achieving manufacturing excellence supporting a Highly Orchestrated network
+ Deliver Safety & Quality Excellence as measured by the sites BSC and ensure the function delivers on our ZD and SQE behaviours operating to the 11 Safety, Quality & Excellence principles . Ensure operational excellence tools deployed for reactive investigations and proactive safety & quality excellence.
+ Lead, support, coach and develop the Operations Team to deliver all manufacturing commitments agreed with internal and external stakeholders. ( Production , Automation and Production services)
+ The person will be responsible for Operational performance (as measured by the plan adherence metrics) and will ensure that the Operations team collaborates at all levels, functions and product teams to deliver this plant performance.
+ The person will ensure that the correct manufacturing strategy is in place to fit our customer and stakeholder needs both short and long term by engaging in strategic external processes (LRVF, Budget and inventory planning and Capacity planning) .
+ Deliver Manufacturing Excellence as measured by our customer service and plan adherence and financial metrics aligned with customer and above site stakeholders. Ensure operational excellence principles are embedded to deliver supply excellence from end to end and a cost competitive manufacturing plant.
+ Deliver a Culture of People Excellence through the recently launched SQE culture initiative.
+ Supporting individual development to maximise each colleagues potential. Recognise individual and team performance through full use of available processes( Internal and external) including site communications, HI 5 and individual recognition.
+ Ensure the best standards are applied across operations – Engaging with external stakeholders (APINLT, APIOT ETC) the Leader will Constantly bench-mark and challenge the Site to deliver the next level of improvement in Manufacturing excellence and competitiveness.
+ Leadership of the Service Level Agreement with supporting departments.
Education & Experience
This position calls for excellent technical, organisational, communication and leadership skills, and requires the Operations Leader to perform with confidence in what will be a consistently dynamic operating environment. The individual will have the ability to lead a diverse and highly competent team and collaborate across all site functions / including above site to deliver excellence.
+ It is expected that the successful candidate will be qualified to degree level in an appropriate engineering, science, or other business related discipline.
+ Ten years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or similar industries including Operational Excellence techniques (six sigma green or black belt, lean manufacturing, etc.) or related experience.
+ A Proven Strategic influencer and change agent, the role requires significant leadership skills and proven ability to involve several levels of an organization to successfully meet the objectives.
+ Shows fresh, insightful thinking by developing creative approaches to processes and practices, products and solutions, services, business models and strategies.
+ Demonstrated strong Business Acumen by anticipating and knowing current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting his/her business and organization.
