This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Supply Chain’s (GSC) Irvine Implant Network to be responsible for the site’s Business Excellence (BEx) and Project Management Office (PMO) Team. The Director will develop and deploy Business Excellence strategies and establish and execute the plant PMOs in alignment with GSC PMO. BEX responsibilities will involve working collaboratively with the Corporate BEX team and site leadership to establish a desired future state and work with the core teams to execute. PMO responsibilities will include establishing a process for developing plant strategy, PMO’s and performance measures with input from plant leadership and ensuring alignment with GSC and network strategy. Partner with cross-functional groups/resources to achieve execution of business objectives.

**Essential job functions:**

+ Lead team to coordinate plant Lean/Six Sigma/Belt initiatives, serve as Business Excellence subject matter experts in mentoring, providing knowledge-transfer and technical guidance. Plan and lead deployment training, execution and follow through of multiple strategic and/or enterprise wide lean and/or Six Sigma programs. Own responsibility for sustaining a culture of continuous improvement. Direct team members and activities with overall responsibility in implementing and sustaining Edwards Production System (EPS), OpEx Maturity Index (OMI), Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE), and Value Improvement Programs (VIPs), developing systems, planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, recommending and implementing changes to methods through several managers or SMEs.

+ Develop a robust talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across Plant Business Excellence (BEx) and the Project Management Office (PMO).

+ Align and partner with GSC Strategy, PMO, and Corporate BEx on common methods, systems, and standards for the plant.

+ Set and lead the implementation of strategic processes that align with key business strategies. Develop implementation plans of critical programs and integrate multiple strategic projects, while ensuring a consistent approach across the plant. Oversee the development and execution of the plant master project plan, establish priorities and escalate risks to senior management.

+ Plan and direct deployment, training, execution and follow-through of multiple strategic and/or enterprise-wide lean and/or Six Sigma programs within the plant and own responsibility for sustaining a culture of continuous improvement.

+ Manage team to lead Industrial Engineering activities (e.g. line layouts, time studies, metric gathering, pull systems, Kanban systems, etc.) in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

+ Develop a robust talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across plant Business Excellence (BEx) and the Project Management Office (PMO). Drive a value stream mindset and culture of continuous improvement based on lean and Six Sigma principles and EW Production System (EPS).

+ Lead and coordinate plant Lean/Six Sigma/Green Belt training programs and serve as a Business Excellence subject matter expert in mentoring, providing knowledge-transfer and technical guidance to Master Black Belt candidates.

+ Responsible for the establishment and oversight of plant PMO in alignment with GSC PMO.

+ Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.




**Required Education/Skills/Experience:**

+ Bachelor degree in related field with a minimum of 12 years of experience managing mid-size to large business excellence projects/programs. Engineering degree and/or Master’s degree preferred.

+ At least 5 years’ experience of direct people management with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and provide coaching and feedback.

+ Black Belt certification and medical device industry highly preferred. Other regulated industries will be considered.

+ Expert understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and best practices in manufacturing and business systems. (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems, Single Piece Flow, variation reduction, Kaizen/Gemba, Standard Work and Visual Management).

+ Extensive understanding of statistical analysis, tools and methodology, Project Management, continuous improvement, quality and financial principles.

+ Broad-based experience in facilitating change, including collaboration with Management and Executive stakeholders. Ability to lead change in a matrix environment.

+ Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic and constantly changing work environment.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
