Healthineers as an **_Electrical_** **_/Computer_** **_Engineering Intern_** in our
Siemens Molecular Imaging business unit. We have openings for a hardware development
intern at our Hoffman Estates, Illinois location. We are a high-growth,
high-technology business leading the change towards personalized medicine.

The selected candidate will join
the electrical engineering development team in the hardware department of the
Molecular Imaging business unit. This team develops nuclear gamma ray detectors
for SPECT and PET cameras used in the radiology departments of hospitals. The
duration of the internship varies. However, the preferred length is at least a
semester of school including the summer.

The electrical engineering intern
position is an entry-level engineering support position intended to provide the
intern with industry experience, a familiarity with Siemens, and enable Siemens
to obtain an in-depth evaluation of potential future staff members. The intern
will be assigned tasks that fall within the scope of a typical entry-level
hardware engineer.

**This is a role well suitedto an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an** **_Electrical_** **_/Computer_** **_Engineering Intern_** **_,_** **your responsibilities include but are not limited to thefollowing.**

+ You will develop low complexity printedcircuit board assemblies, test fixtures, test firmware/scripts forautomated testing of assemblies, and hardware infrastructure (engineeringtools, databases, websites) needed to support the engineering environment.

+ You will perform integration testing ofnew hardware/software releases with thorough documentation of test resultsand a written report summary.

+ You will create defect reports andverify fixes.

+ You will execute calibration and fieldreturn analysis.

+ You are enrolled in an electricaland/or computer engineering program at an accredited university. Preferredareas of study: analog and digital signal processing, electromechanicaldesign, FPGA development, analog circuit analysis with PSpice, embeddedapplications.

+ You have a good PC skills (MS Officesoftware like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).

+ You will be working with our latesttechnology and therefore you are willing to learn about new software andhardware solutions.

+ You have good communications skills andteam orientation.

**Required skills to have forthe success of this role**

+ 3.2 GPA or greater

+ Rising junior, senior, or Master’sstudent pursuing your degree.

+ Must be enrolled in an electrical orcomputer engineering program

**Start date in Summer 2021; 6-8month duration.**
