**Job Description:**

Job Summary: Reporting to the Plant Financial Manager, this position contributes to the coordination of the annual business plan, analyzing and monitoring SG&A budgets and actuals, capital expenditure plan and plant activity for Terumo Medical Corporation (TMC). The Finance Analyst will also be responsible for helping provide finance project support (e.g. Discounted Cash flow analysis (NPV, IRR) and project costs monitoring and post audit after project goes live) to R&D and Manufacturing. The Finance Analyst will also be an active member of the TMC Elkton Finance team and will perform ad hoc analysis as needs arise in a rapidly changing environment.

Job Details:

1. Cost Modeling & Financial Analysis

o Actively participate and provide financial guidance in project and functional meetings

o Work with cross functional teams to gather inputs for projects and financial analysis

o Support multi-plant projects by working with piers at other Terumo global plant sites

o Support Manufacturing, Operations and PD&LCM projects by providing financial analysis:

• Make versus buy cost models/analysis

• Cost models for new products and/or product transfers

• Provide NPV, IRR, ROI information for key projects

o Support financial initiatives and as needed create financial models at the direction of the Financial Leadership across TMC

o Prepare and organize work papers for internal/ external reviews as required.

o Conduct any Ad Hoc financial analyses per Operational or Financial Leadership request

2. Financial Reporting:

o Prepare and present monthly budget vs. actual expense reporting for the PD&LCM managers and explain variances to leadership o Summarize and present monthly, quarterly and annual PD&LCM spending analysis

o Assist PD&LCM group with investigation and resolution of inquiries into spending variances o Actively participate in cost reduction programs and subsequent reporting of achievement

o Provide ad-hoc financial reporting support to the PD-LCM group

3. Budgeting:

o Coordinate PD & LCM annual budgeting tasks with corporate and business finance groups o Assist R&D and Manufacturing Engineers with creation of CapEx and Operational Budgets o Ensure project budgets maintain alignment with yearly budgeting exercises o Provide assistance to cost accounting in reconciling latest project cost estimates to new yearly standard costs and explain variances from model estimates

4. Capital Projects (CIP):

o Monitor and track activity on active projects and provide monthly reporting to management on both project capital and operational expense to budget.

o Monitor project cost and spend alignment between various data sources

o Coordinate with Project Managers to assure timely and accurate management of expenditures and assure they are in line with expectations.

o Coordinate with cost accounting on capital projects ready for closure to ensure timely closure and alignment with operational requirements (depreciation, department setup, reporting, etc..)

5. Maintain and follow TMC Quality System requirements (Rules and regulations that help govern plant working environment).

**Position Requirements:**

As a Finance Analyst you must be able to think and act independently and influence others outside of finance (engineers) in order to drive compliance. This role also requires attention to detail and accuracy as the analysis will be consolidated into data provided to TMC management, as well as to the TC investment committee and other TC business units’ management for their approvals.

+ **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)**

+ Understanding of discounted cash flow analysis and principles of financial modeling.

+ Experience with building and running financial models.

+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex business situations.

+ Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication (oral and written) skills

+ Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

+ Possesses initiative, customer focus, and problem solving skills

+ Ability to perform accurately under time constraints with strong attention to detail.

+ Experience in organizing and preparing PowerPoint presentations for upper levels of management.

+ Ability to present information clearly and concisely to business leadership.

+ Advanced/expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.

+ Must be organized and detail oriented

+ Experience in adhering to established deadlines.

+ Excellent analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills

**Background Experiences**

+ Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a financial or economic discipline and a minimum of 5-8 years of finance experience of increasing responsibility. MBA, MS in Finance, CPA, CFA or any other designation is a plus but not required

+ Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.

+ Prior experience with a manufacturing, medical device or pharmaceutical company is preferred.

+ Prior experience with ERP Systems, specifically JD Edwards and/or SAP is preferred but at a minimum must have aptitude for learning systems

+ Spanish or Japanese fluency a plus
