**HR Manager – South Africa**

+ Operationally supports HR strategies

+ Delivers effective HR service which is customer service-focused and business-related

+ Implements HR policies and practices so that present and future requirements are met effectively

+ Supports respective client groups

+ Maintains full talent pipeline of internal staff and external candidates

+ Mobilizes staff through alignment initiatives and motivational programs

+ Improves team effectiveness through HR influence

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Conducts HR programs such as orientation, recruiting events, employee relations meetings, talent management

+ Coordinates on-boarding, hiring and payroll processes

+ Manages day-to-day relationship with external suppliers/vendors

+ Supports performance management processes

+ Monitors and ensures compliance with local labor laws monitors local regulations, reviews work contracts, implements status changes

+ Ensures accurate and compliant pay (including payroll) and benefits administration

+ Conducts annual competitive benchmarking analysis and other HR reports for the site

+ Develops supervisors to improve their management capabilities

+ Develops and administer local rewards programs based on corporate compensation philosophy, business objectives, and International programs

+ Implements and Facilitates training and development; may teach in-house courses

+ Take the Lead on local legislative requirements like Employment Equity

+ Prepare and ensure compliant submissions such as Employment Equity and Skills development Reporting

+ Implements and ensures a clear, shared understanding of HR procedures/policies

+ Builds and maintains knowledge of Amgen’s products, therapeutic areas, markets, and business-financial model

+ Understands key business processes to ensure HR initiatives add value to Amgen’s local and regional business goals

+ Act as the project manager for BBBEE and provide guidance and direction on all initiatives related to BBBEE

+ Support all Amgen Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging programs

+ Ensure compliance related to Covid-19 regulations

+ Member of the South Africa Leadership team

+ Takes decisions within the agreed site HR strategy

+ Provides day-to-day feedback to HR suppliers

+ Implementation of established HR processes and procedures

+ Payroll and benefits administration

+ Delivery of HR programs

+ Customer service

+ Compliant and efficient HR transactions

+ Contributes to the following for client groups:

+ Annual staffing plan for client groups

+ MAP performance rating distribution that meets corporate guidelines

+ Policies, procedures, and associated documents for compliance to local rules

+ Annual calendar of HR programs relevant to local management and staff members

+ Quarterly HR metrics dashboard for local management and business review meetings

+ May participate in annual HR personnel and financial budget plan for country-site HR function

**Minimum Requirements**

+ University Degree in Psychology, Sociology, HR, Business Administration, or similar degree; legally equivalent experience

+ Solid previous experience covering a variety of functions such as rewards, staffing, training, employee relations.

+ Fluent in English (both oral and written)

**Preferred Requirements**

+ Pharmaceutical experience is preferred but not a requirement

+ Multinational company experience in a matrixed environment

+ Multiple language capabilities
