**Your challenge:**

As the Industrial Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for accurately calculating and tracking product costs for all new products, to deliver at expected cost levels and lead cost improvement opportunities. You will support cost reduction initiatives on existing products to keep the business competitive. This role is critical to portfolio decision making (supplier allocation based on Total Cost of Ownership). Your work will support decision making in Innovation & Development, Project Management, Finance, Purchasing and Marketing.

The Industrial Cost Engineer will directly interface with a team of 15+ Project Managers within the Power Toothbrush, Oral Hygiene, and Whitening Segments, as well as with the key stakeholders in the organization. You will frequently work with other functions within the Oral Healthcare business and be expected to team up with similar roles to yours at other Innovation and Supply sites, globally.

**You are responsible for:**

+ You will advise and steer (per request and proactively) on all financial-technical related topics during product development.

+ You will be involved in the creation and implementation of financial project plans and cost calculations.

+ Evaluating the costs of internal versus external production of OHC products. For the new projects you will be setting up profitability analysis and investigating alternatives to achieve ambitious business goals

+ Reviewing and assessing of cost build-up of external supplier quotations (incorporating aspects like part price, cycle time, and selected industrial processes)

+ Calculating and maintaining industry cost allocations including Industry Adder, Licensing adders, freight uplifts for Bothell products

+ You will initiate, participate in or lead improvement teams, always searching for new developments and alternatives, which can have a great impact on the total business.

+ Tracking cost price realization and making deviation to agreed targets transparent and trigger PDCA cycles to ensure realization of cost prices in line with agreed targets

+ Coordinating efforts with ICE teams from OHC Factories to ensure that the product costs and investments are properly reflected in business plans and forecasting tools

+ Ensuring that applicable documents/deliverables are created and delivered according to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements

**To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:**

+ Technical Bachelor’s or Master degree in engineering, preferably with finance and continuous improvement experience.

+ Affinity with mass produced, consumer products; global supply footprint

+ 5+ years of experience and expertise with cost engineering in a technical environment.

+ Understanding of the relation and connection between cost prices calculations, business cases, P&L and Balance sheet;

+ Superb knowledge in Excel and other MS office applications.

+ Experience with clean sheet / “should cost” calculations.

+ Ability to manage time, be organized, and work with minimal supervision.

+ Detail oriented and striving for perfection; quality mindset.

+ Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes with attention to detail.

+ Able to work cross-functionally with diverse teams on various topics.

+ Knowledge of and ability to work within a global corporate environment is required. Highly collaborative.

+ Excellent documentation skills including proofreading to ensure accuracy of content.

+ Strong communication and presentation skills (listening, written, and verbal) in English.

+ Ability to communicate at all levels of an organization effectively.
