**Manager Database Administration**
Direct Supervisor: Director of DevOps
Location: Brentwood, TN Office
This position is responsible for all activities related to the administration of all enterprise databases including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB an MySQL. Assigns personnel to various projects and leads prioritizing and directing their activities. Mentors and develops team members as high performing associates and potential successors. Reviews and evaluates their work and prepares performance reports. Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical issues, and all issues related to database administration. Consults with and advises application developers and analysts of the various databases. Defines future requirements for database administration in conjunction with other managers within Information Technology.
The position requires a strong focus on quality, being detail oriented and highly dedicated. Business continuity of all databases is essential and requires 24 x 7 support that is very time sensitive.
+ Manage a team of database administrators
+ Responsible for data integrity and high availability of database systems
+ Work with Operations to manage database hardware infrastructure
+ Participate in on-call rotation as needed
+ Document procedures
+ Identify and recommend tools and services for managing database infrastructure
+ Automate systems and deployment procedures
+ Analyze and develop capacity and performance planning for database growth and performance
+ Evaluate hardware requirements for database loads based on efficient use of systems
+ Monitor and tune databases and tune databases to avoid issues and maximize performance
+ Patch and upgrade databases to secure databases in a timely manner as required by policy
+ Perform periodic failover testing to ensure fault tolerance mechanisms function as designed
+ Ability to work well under pressure and get things done
+ Must be dependable and possess strong leadership skills
+ Experience working cross-functionally across many groups in the company
+ Must be self-motivated and have strong organizational skills
+ Adaptability and the ability to work in a high paced environment
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ 10+ years DBMS experience working in a high-volume production environment
+ Solid knowledge of physical and logical database design
+ Microsoft SQL 2016 Database Administration
+ Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014
+ At least 4+ years as a MySQL DBA
+ MySQL 5.x (Innodb and MyISAM)
+ MySQL replication ( Master-Master, master-Slave, Cluster replication)
+ One to two years of experience in managing and maintaining MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
+ Proficiency in writing automation scripts in Perl, Shell, PHP, PowerShell or Python
+ Knowledge of Subversion, Git or other source code version control and repository tools.
+ Proven leadership, problem solving consensus building, training and quality assurance skills
**Other Preferred Skills:**
+ I/O performance tuning
+ Understanding and troubleshooting TCP/IP networking services
+ Oracle Database 12c Certified master
+ Oracle Database 12c RAC and Grid Infrastructure Administration
+ Oracle Database 12c Performance Management and Tuning
+ Knowledge of NoSQL solutions
+ Strong experience with SQL.
+ Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up and always-available service environment.
+ Experience in an Agile environment.
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
**Knowledge and Skills**
+ NoSQL experience is a plus.
+ Healthcare experience.
