**About Baxter’s Cleveland, MS Facility:**

Cleveland’s technology and automation is cutting edge. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Provide technical expertise and direction to the staff of a 24 hour / 7 day a week operation

+ Provide training where necessary for maintenance personnel to develop a well balanced work team

+ Provide support to maintenance staff whenever necessary

+ Develop and implement modifications and improvement to existing equipment

+ Assist in the procurement and installation of new equipment

+ Interact professionally with management, staff, plant personnel, vendors and outside contractors

+ Develop and maintain spare parts inventory for all areas of responsibility

+ Ensure maintenance conformance with SOP and specifications

+ Supervise plant/department construction and capital improvement projects

+ Provide necessary resources to insure the success of the plant 6S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives

+ Responsible for achieving all due dates on assigned projects

+ Must have knowledge of both plant and department environmental health and safety regulations and comply with regulations accordingly

+ Must perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined by supervision / management

+ Must adhere to all cGDP (current Good Documentation Practices)

+ Cross train each mechanic as required to effectively support manufacturing departments

+ Create environment that stresses and encourages teamwork

+ Maintain training programs as appropriate for employees in the area. Assure training has been properly documented and performed on time.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ Bachelors or Associates degree, Engineering preferred or Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience

+ Minimum 5 years experience in Machine Maintenance with leadership responsibilities

+ Should be skilled in troubleshooting all types of equipment both mechanically and electrically

+ Should be capable of supervising complex maintenance and repair tasks, i.e. machine overhauls

+ Effective communication skills both oral and written

+ Proficient computer software skills

+ Should possess strong technical skills and good interpersonal skills

+ Candidates must meet visual acuity requirements as documented in the Baxter Cleveland Visual Acuity Procedure CL-01-01-037.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

+ Ability to push, pull up to 100 pounds

+ Ability to lift above the shoulder up to 30 pounds

+ Ability to bend/stoop

+ Ability to climb ladders

+ Ability to reach above the shoulder

+ Ability to meet confined space entry requirements

+ Ability to maneuver in tight spaces

+ Ability to work in unfavorable conditions (hot/cold temperatures)

+ Audiometric testing and hearing protection are required

+ Ability to work in high places off the ground

+ Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods
