This position is responsible for leadership of the maintenance team as they maximize reliability of designated facility and manufacturing equipment while ensuring employee safety and product quality. Manages multiple and rotating shifts within highly automated operations. Will be a leader of professional Maintenance oriented improvement projects in area of responsibility involving the incorporation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques and principles into all maintenance systems. This position has direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities, including training compliance, safety, quality, and department goals, while driving continuous improvement. Interprets and manages implementation of plant and department policies/ programs including good manufacturing practices aimed to meeting highly regulated medical device industry standards
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities (these are primary responsibilities of the role and the incumbent will perform other duties as assigned):**
+ Progressively improves the status of all equipment on a prioritized basis using World Class Manufacturing techniques and practices.
+ Ensures the sustainability of completed improvements by the maintenance team.
+ Oversees timely completion of breakdown root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation
+ Works with maintenance lead personnel to ensure correct prioritization and timely completion of all work orders and sets out work on a weekly or day to day basis.
+ Works with buyer/planner to ensure spare parts inventory is optimized and coherent with the equipment requirements.
+ Routinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings
+ Drive the development and improvement of all preventive and predictive maintenance programs
+ Develop a culture of Maintenance that embraces all reliability-centered maintenance tools and uses them to drive continuous improvement within the workforce. This includes highly effective maintenance planning and execution, quick change parts exchange and improvement in backup system reliability.
+ Manage maintenance controls and maintenance contractors. Track and report activity related to performance measures of equipment, including but not limited to maintenance activities and major downtime. Develop tracking programs to measure ongoing problems and implement effective strategies to reduce unplanned down time on critical equipment.
+ Own production equipment uptime and continuously improve overall machine efficiency.
+ Provide direct support to the operations by maintaining the equipment using best-in-class industry practices of TPM, RCM, and other lean tools.
+ Own and administer computerized maintenance management system (Maximo).
+ Apply and reinforce the use of local EH&S measures and controls to ensure highest personnel safety, health standards, and brand sustainability.
+ Ensure Maintenance processes meet Quality System guiding principles while promptly assessing and remedying opportunities for improvement, while predicting equipment/process performance.
+ Manage Maintenance department personnel and assets to meet safety, quality, operations, and financial budget and department goals.
+ Supervise the daily Maintenance department operations across multiple disciplines.
+ Work effectively cross functionally facilitating, driving and implementing value improvement projects.
+ Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Baxter Cultural Values.
+ Direct and oversee the contract custodial staff to maintain the cleanliness and physical appearance of the site to ensure compliance with GMP.
**Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Qualifications):**
+ Strong background in reliability centered maintenance and lean manufacturing;
+ Ability to manage activities of departments through subordinates who exercise full supervision in terms of cost, methods, and employees.
+ Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data, information, and financial reports, understand and resolve technical difficulties, interface with internal engineering/technical experts and external technical representatives, manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant, be resourceful to a complex highly-automated operation.
+ Strong background in World Class manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing (and/or Six Sigma), Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Drug and Administration guidelines and process validation.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Field with a minimum of 7-10 years of manufacturing experience with proven leadership background.
**Physical / Safety Requirements**
+ Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.
+ Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required.
+ Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
+ Requires standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, pulling, pushing, and climbing stairs.
