We are currently seeking a **Therapeutic Area Head Oncology** join our **Oncology Therapeutic Area** team in Turkey, based in Istanbul. The successful candidate will mainly focus on leading the Oncology Therapeutic Area (TA), driving the strategy and manage TA portfolio, strategic resource planning for Oncology pipeline.

**Additional responsibilities include:**

• Provide broad and deep understanding of the therapeutic area cross-functionally. Seen as credible expert by internal and external customers.

• Work cross-functionally with other departments to develop and execute aligned strategic plans for the optimal dissemination of clinical evidence by the team in pre and post product launch phases in accordance to local health authority guidelines.

• Be the single point of accountability for all TA activities

• Establish and communicate the strategy for the TA in line with regional strategy

• Develop goals and tactics for the TA, ensure goal accountability and evaluate performance

• Manage resources and budget for the TA, maintain budget accountability

• Hire, coach, mentor and develop staff and team members (Medical Advisors, MSLs)

• Assist team members in interactions and communication with external customers, key organizations, and institutions

• Assess risks and identify issues, conflicts or gaps across the portfolio

• Partner with the Country Business Unit for all product lifecycle management activities

• Partner with regional HQ to support medical affairs activities (continuous medical education, advisory boards, scientific projects)

• Provide support and leadership for advisory boards

• Provide scientific/clinical oversight for the compilation of regulatory and reimbursement submissions across the portfolio

• Provide clinical oversight of product safety evaluation

• Drive local data generation activities, identify new research opportunities

• Drive local publication activities

• Work with Global Study Operations on site selection (feasibility), support site evaluation, initiation and recruitment

• Scientific/medical review of materials used internally/externally

• Medical quality control of Turkish Prescribing Information

• Ensure highest ethics and compliance standards

**Mininum Requirements:**

**Your profile:**

• Medical Doctor

• Five or more years of experience in clinical development or medical affairs, four years of which should be from a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company

• Sound scientific and clinical judgment

• People management experience

**Preferred Requirements:**

• Scientific or medical expertise in one or more of the key indications (oncology, hematology, urology) and related products and disease states

• In-depth understanding of the scientific method and clinical applications based on medical, scientific and practical rationale

• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), MoH regulations and guidelines, and applicable international regulatory requirements

• Medical / scientific research experience; good knowledge of local clinical research, drug safety, legal and compliance environment

• Knowledge of value messages, clinical outcomes and patient benefits in oncological diseases

• Understanding of Turkish health care system and decision-making processes

• Understanding of new drug commercialization and business practices

• Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate others in a complex, multi-functional environment

• Network of customer contacts in Turkey

• Scientific/medical review of materials used internally/externally
