The Senior Buyer, Supply Chain is responsible for managing the flow of goods and information leveraging data analysis techniques to identify and implement improvements across the Supply Chain and Logistics Operations. This position will support our Carlsbad chemical reagent manufacturing site in accordance with our global supplier strategy. Utilizing data-driven insights, this individual will work closely with all internal/external stakeholders regarding Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales to ensure an efficient and effective Supply Chain.

This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is part of the Supply Chain/Logistics Team located in Carlsbad, CA and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Analyzing demand data and forecast to make inform decisions both short and long-term to optimize continuity of supply chain performance, purchasing and supplier performance

+ Direct and Indirect Purchase order and supplier management

+ Responsible for Key Performance Indicators such as on-time delivery, stock outs, savings generation, and inventory performance to measure effectiveness of optimization initiatives and further improvement actions

+ Establish critical inventory parameters to improve inventory performance, shortages that drive positive cash flow. — such as activity-based costing (ABC) and safety stock settings, replenishment quantity, and launch quantity — considering constraints and input, such as lead time and order cycle time.

+ Identify targeted continuous improvement in supplier OTD, Working Capital turns, Purchase Price Variance, and related KPI’s/objectives by leveraging DBS tools, facilitation skills, and change management; implement changes to operational processes based on data analysis, including purchasing, supplier selection and logistics strategies

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Bachelor’s degree required with minimum 5+ years of direct related experience

+ Must have a strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems: Oracle EBS and Oracle Cloud working knowledge is preferred.

+ Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze supply chain data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve efficiency via process mapping and design

+ Extracting large data sets related to inventory levels, on time Delivery, forecasting and supplier performance to identify areas of improvement

+ Purchasing experience in manufacturing medical devices and reagent environment

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, including demand forecasting, planning, procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.

+ Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Quality System Regulations (QSR’s).

+ Strong listening, verbal, and interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external customers, vendors, suppliers.

The annual salary range for this role is $105,000 -$120,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
