The Manufacturing Engineer II at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for providing support and solving problems in the manufacturing process, from assembly to final packaging. This role emphasizes driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer II will be accountable for leading design transfer efforts to meet business objectives. You will work cross-functionally to drive business results, DBS culture, and executing on strategic plans to achieve long-term objectives.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is part of the Hardware Manufacturing Engineering Team located in Nicholasville, KY and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Engineering Projects: Lead and manage engineering projects and design changes from concept through to implementation including the transfer of a subset of production processes from Miami, FL to Nicholasville, KY

+ Support Production Operations: Utilize engineering principles and hands-on troubleshooting to drive to root cause and implement countermeasures for production issues

+ Drive Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

+ Process Validation: Manage all stages of process validation, including Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (pFMEA), establishing protocols and executing IQ/OQ/PQ protocols

+ Continuous Improvement: Participate and lead teams in continuous improvement events to improve quality, productivity and delivery of manufacturing processes

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in the engineering field with 2+ years experience OR a Master’s degree in the engineering field

+ Problem-solving: Demonstrated experience in leveraging and applying technical expertise to solve complex problems in a fast-paced, regulated environment

+ Continuous Improvement: Experience identifying and implementing process improvements within a manufacturing environment

+ Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to varied audiences

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

+ Ability to travel up to 75% during 2026 calendar year, varying depending on project work and scope needed

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Demonstrated experience in process capability analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence

+ Experience with CAD software and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP).

+ Knowledge of relevant quality systems (e.g., ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949)

The annual salary range is $75k – $95k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
