The Director, Regional Medical Affairs – LATAM is responsible for establishing and leading the Medical and Scientific Affairs function across Latin America, serving as the first dedicated Medical Affairs leader for the region. This role acts as the critical medical partner to regional commercial leadership and global Medical Affairs, translating global integrated medical and evidence plans into regionally relevant strategies that support diagnostic adoption, evidence generation, and market access.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Regional Medical Affairs (Global) and is part of the Global Medical Affairs organisation. This role is eligible to be fully remote within Latin America, with a strong preference for candidates based in Brazil, the regional hub for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Lead the development and execution of the regional Medical Affairs strategy for Latin America, aligned with global integrated medical and evidence plans across pre‑launch, launch, and post‑launch phases;

+ Build, develop, and sustain high‑impact relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and scientific societies to drive scientific exchange, education, and diagnostic innovation;

+ Identify, evaluate, and support regional evidence‑generation opportunities, including investigator‑initiated studies and registrational or post‑market studies, in partnership with global Medical Affairs and R&D teams;

+ Provide region‑specific medical, health economics, reimbursement, and policy insights to support market access, value messaging, and engagement with government and payer stakeholders;

+ Serve as the senior medical representative for Latin America at regional and national scientific congresses, advisory boards, and external scientific engagements not covered by global teams.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Doctorate degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with long‑standing experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Affairs within diagnostics, in‑vitro diagnostics, medical devices, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries.

+ Demonstrated experience supporting the full product lifecycle, including clinical evidence generation, regulatory support, medical education, and product launches in regulated healthcare environments;

+ Professional fluency in English and Spanish;

+ Proven collaborator across matrixed organizations, with a track record of transparent communication, shared goal execution, and talent development;

+ Exceptional leadership, problem‑solving, negotiation, and influencing skills, supported by experience in clinical research across academia, healthcare, life sciences, or medical technology.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

+ Ability to travel approximately 40–50% of the time across Latin America, with periodic international travel.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Medical Affairs leadership responsibility across Latin America or other emerging markets.
