Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Electrification & Automation (EA) business unit is headquartered in Wendell, NC. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.

**We are looking for a Manufacturing / Process Engineer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.**

This new facility supports the Customer Services (CS) organization, which delivers engineered retrofit, repair, modernization, and service‑driven production for **medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution equipment** . The work is highly technical, hands‑on, and closely integrated with shop‑floor operations.

CS operations include the following production areas:

+ 38 kV Circuit Breaker Assembly Line

+ MV Switchgear CB Assembly Line

+ LV MCC Bucket Unit Assembly Line

+ Parts Kitting & Line‑Feeding Stations

+ Pre‑Fab Machinist / Fabrication Area

+ MV Circuit Breaker Repair & Retrofit Operations

This is a **full‑time, on‑site role** requiring daily presence at our Wendell manufacturing campus, with flexibility to support production schedules and critical operations as needed.

**You’ll make an impact by:**

+ Driving safety improvements across assembly, machining, repair, and kitting operations.

+ Analyzing and improving manufacturing and service processes, with a focus on quality, throughput, and repeatability.

+ Owning process improvement and production support projects, including tooling, layouts, material flow, and equipment upgrades.

+ Supporting the shop floor through hands‑on engineering involvement, problem‑solving, and real‑time production support.

+ Implementing and sustaining digital manufacturing tools, including digital work instructions, operator displays, and performance dashboards.

+ Supporting engineering changes, retrofit introductions, and new service offerings by updating production lines, processes, and documentation.

+ Designing, specifying, and implementing fixtures, tooling, calibrated tools, lifting devices, and shop aids to improve safety and productivity.

+ Preparing equipment, tooling, and work areas to support high‑mix, low‑volume, retrofit‑focused manufacturing.

+ Collaborating closely with project managers, supervisors, planners, quality teams, and production personnel to align engineering intent with manufacturing execution.

**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in **Manufacturing, Mechanical, Idustrial, or Electrical Engineering** , or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.

+ 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or service/repair environment.

+ Practical experience applying lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process engineering principles.

+ Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOMs, routings, and work instructions.

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design/layout tools.

+ Experience working with SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems.

+ Must be eligible to work in the US without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience simulating manufacturing systems and analyzing capacity or takt‑time models.

+ Understanding of machining, electrical assembly, or switchgear/circuit breaker repair processes.

+ Exposure to capacity analysis, line balancing, takt‑time, or workflow modeling (formal simulation experience not required).

+ Familiarity with automation, programming logic, databases, or manufacturing IT systems.

+ Experience training or supporting production teams on engineering topics such as drawings, tooling, safety, or process changes.

+ Demonstrated ability to design, install, and validate production tooling, fixtures, and shop equipment.
