Description
In this vital role, you will support the **Operations Finance team** , with a primary focus on **standard costing execution and analysis** across Amgen’s manufacturing network. You will work closely with global stakeholders and play a key role in ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Support the **end‑to‑end standard costing process** , including preparation, system updates, and validation of standard costs
+ Maintain and update **standard costs** in SAP S/4Hana (including material, BOM, routing, and overhead components)
+ Perform **monthly costing-related variance analysis** (standard vs actual), including PPV, usage, and overhead variances
+ Support **inventory accounting activities** , including inventory valuation, reconciliations, and roll‑forwards
+ Assist with **absorption testing** , excess capacity analysis, and related reporting
+ Prepare and review **journal entries** , account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to inventory and costing
+ Support **audit requirements** , in collaboration with Cost Accounting
+ Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Global Finance teams to resolve costing issues and data gaps
+ Support **S/4HANA system enhancements, testing, and data validation** related to costing and inventory
+ Participate in **continuous improvement and automation initiatives** within costing and inventory processes

**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
+ Minimum **5 years of experience** in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance
+ Hands‑on experience with **standard costing** and variance analysis in a complex manufacturing environment
+ Experience working with **SAP** (S/4HANA preferred)
+ Fluency in **English**
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ CA / CMA / CPA or MBA (Finance)
+ Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environments
+ Strong understanding of **inventory accounting and US GAAP**
+ Advanced Excel skills; experience with automation or reporting tools is a plus
+ Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
+ Ability to work effectively in a **global, matrixed environment**
