In this vital role the Contracting Business Technology Lead will join our Contract Development team within US Value Access and be responsible for managing a portfolio of technology improvement requests from business stakeholders across the organization. This position requires a dynamic and innovative thinker committed to delivering cutting-edge capabilities to the US V&A organization. We are seeking a business leader that understands technology and can manage multiple workstreams concurrently across multiple business units.

The Contracting Business Technology Lead will be responsible for advancing existing technology to optimize business processes and as well as identify opportunities to streamline integration of people & processes through advances in technology including the exploration of artificial intelligence.

As a business technology leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technological future, improving user experiences, and ensuring efficient business operations. This multifaceted position imparts strong leadership, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of technology’s role in achieving business goals.

This position operates within a complex environment, and the successful candidate will take initiative, problem-solve, work independently and exercise appropriate business judgment. Essential activities include evolving the Contracting Ecosystem into a high-quality data repository, detecting business workflow automation candidates, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Interaction and strong communication with cross-functional teams is crucial.

**What you will do**

**Shaping Amgen’s Future**

+ Serve as Primary liaison of the business with Global Commercial Operations Digital Technology and Innovation Centers of Excellence to translate, negotiate and influence business needs into system solutions

+ Evolve capabilities within our contracting ecosystem to improving reporting and contracting workflows within Conga CPQ & CLM

+ Identify opportunities to automate redundant business processes with Artificial Intelligence

+ Partner with IT to thoroughly explain business needs and enable the IT product team to develop detailed technical requirements & design options

+ Ensure data and process compatibility while minimizing disruption to day-to day business operations

**Maintain System Continuity and Build Business Capabilities Roadmap**

+ Develop and execute a comprehensive business capability roadmap aligned with the company’s strategic objectives

+ Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge

+ Manage prioritization of business capabilities within the product backlog

+ Champion and influence organizational change through daily behavior and in the implementation of business needs within technical solutions to support those needs

+ Resolve conflicts among internal organizations and build collaborative relationships both internally and externally

**User Experience Strategy**

+ Define a user-centric approach that empowers US V&A staff to maximize productivity within Amgen’s Contract Management Ecosystem

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create seamless, intuitive, and customer focused experiences

**Process Improvement**

+ Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains

+ Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs

**Lead and develop direct report**

+ Inspire, train, and establish responsibilities and work priorities for business technology manager who will report into this leader

**Basic Qualifications:**

Doctorate degree and 2 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience

**Or**

Master’s degree and 4 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience

**Or**

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience

**Or**

Associate’s degree and 10 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience

**Or**

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, specifically US pricing & contracts

+ Excellent project and portfolio management skills

+ Proficiency in business process analysis and optimization

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change within the organization

+ Strong understanding of user experience principles

+ Experience working with integrated technologies across multiple teams

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Self-motivates and leads a project from inception to completion

+ Executive navigation and presentation skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
