Job Title: Director, Medical Affairs

Job Location: Gurgaon, India


This post provides critical clinical insight, combined with deep experience in laboratory testing, to advise Cepheid on technologies and strategies in India. The Director will play a critical role in interfacing with Cepheid Global and India marketing teams and directly with customers to help define the next generation of Cepheid products for India, and in design and managing clinical studies of current and incipient Cepheid products. The Director will work closely and interact regularly with the Cepheid Medical Affairs teams globally. The Director will present Cepheid technology in various formats (oral presentations, written Med/Sci Affairs documents, publications, webinars, videos, etc.) to all stakeholders, including internal groups such as Sales, Marketing, Tech Support, etc. and external groups such as regional, national, and international scientific meetings, KOLs, customers, and prospective customers.


+ Design and oversee studies to demonstrate new attributes of existing products

+ Work closely with the Medical Affairs/marketing group to provide input to product development and strategy for the company regarding new applications of Cepheid technology

+ Interact directly with customers with regard to product performance queries, discrepant results, technical consultations and off-label enquiries.

+ Review documents for Quality or Regulatory submissions as needed to satisfy Regulatory body requirements

+ Prepare or review customer-facing documents including Guidelines and Technical Bulletins, product inserts, and training materials

+ Write or assist in writing articles for publication

+ Engage with Clinical Affairs to optimize clinical trials activities

+ Engage with Marketing to help identify KOLs and shape messaging

+ Provide lab-based experience to assist R&D and Core Teams at all stages of assay development

+ Identify and enlist input from experts in the field

+ Give presentations on behalf of Cepheid at meetings and webinars around the world


+ Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time


Education and Experience (in years):

+ M.D. with Microbiology or Infectious Disease training strongly preferred with minimum 3+ years of experience

Knowledge and skills:

+ Direct diagnostic laboratory experience is preferred

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals

+ Good access to Key Experts and relevant advisory groups in India


+ Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
