About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation: The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid! The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility. We are looking for an EHS Team Lead. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Siemens Industry Inc. is seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Team Lead to champion Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives across our Wendell, NC manufacturing facility. This leadership role combines strategic oversight with hands-on support, driving Siemens’ Zero Harm Culture and sustainability goals. You will lead a team of EHS professionals, support diverse manufacturing operations, and collaborate across the business unit to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll make an impact by: Lead and mentor EHS professionals across manufacturing operations. Develop and implement EHS strategies aligned with Siemens’ Zero Harm Culture and ISO14001/ISO45001 standards. Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Coordinate and enhance EHS training programs, including new hire orientation, and regulatory compliance needs. Manage workers’ compensation cases and return-to-work programs. Drive sustainability initiatives to reduce the plant’s carbon footprint. Maintain and analyze EHS performance metrics and regulatory reporting (internal and external). Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and compliance. Lead ergonomic assessments and continuous improvement activities. Ensure customer qualification requirements are met through third-party safety platforms. Provide technical guidance on EHS issues and regulatory compliance. Promote employee engagement through safety committees, recognition programs, and proactive communication. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations and project planning. You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of progressive EHS experience Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable EHS regulations. Experience in manufacturing and field service environments. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive EHS performance. Demonstrated success in influencing safety culture and leading change initiatives. Strong writing capabilities, especially with clear, concise EHS procedures. Excellent communication, coaching, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS data systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. The pay range for this position is $67,480 – $115,680 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
