Medtronic’s
Tempe, Arizona Microelectronic Solutions location is looking for a Program Manager
that will accept the challenge of program execution in operations/released
product engineering for a new startup area within Medtronic. In this exciting role as a Program Manager,
you will have the responsibility for a variety of operations centric programs,
which includes activities such as (but is not limited to) manufacturing
transfers among global locations, production ramp PM activities, and continuous
improvement projects throughout the product lifecycle.

Candidate
should have experience in leading projects or programs in an engineering
environment. This role will interface with Product Development, operations,
released product engineering, test, quality, supply chain, internal/external
auditors, vendors, as well as other extended team members in a medical
application. Individual should have strong skill in attention to details and be
able to work across a matrix to accomplish goals. Individual should have prior
experience or working knowledge in business process improvements around Design
Controls, operations, released product engineering, ISO13485, and/or 21 CFR
Part 820.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities
may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Sets cleardirection and management that aligns with defined practices and policies. Ensure projects are executed in accordancewith applicable procedures and policies.

+ Worksclosely with cross-functional teams to evaluate, produce, transfer, and manageengineering projects to ensure delivery of a product or computer-based systemthrough the appropriate regulatory and compliance processes, and into afinished state for external customers.

+ Recommendsnew policies and procedures that affect program management, positivelyinfluences procedure owners partner with PM and team to successfully implementchanges

+ Communicatesand leads meetings with internal and external customers and vendors, conductsbriefings to higher level management team

+ Accountablefor planning, initiating, monitoring, tracking and/or prioritizing engineeringteam’s product development programs or projects and facilitating successful,on-time and within budget execution.

+ Direct involvement in daily tasks necessary forsuccessful program execution, including both driving and owning engineeringwork, decision making, and fundamental program management best practices.

+ Solvesissues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion withoutdirect exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on programexecution plans

+ Directsday to day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing projectplans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying projectrisks and accountability for deliverables across multiple functionalorganizations.

+ Establishesmeaningful metrics.

+ Accountablefor project performance, risk management, administration, financial management,budgeting, capital planning, forecasting and issue resolution.

+ Interfaceswith all applicable external stakeholders for the project including end usersand suppliers.Accountable for positive relationship establishment,growth, and maintenance with both internal and external customers leading tostrong partnerships and project successes

+ Accountablefor partnership with functional management to integrate and meet departmentalas well as program goals.

+ Assessesproject issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, andclient-satisfaction goals andobjectives.

+ Developsmechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problemsolving with project managers, functional managers, and customers. Performlessons learned on projects and make information available to other projectteams.

+ Participatein cross functional strategic and/or Annual Operating Planning (AOP) processes.

+ ConductProject Phase Review in a professional and unbiased manner.

+ Measureand assess the effectiveness and performance of project teams and provide inputregarding the performance ofindividuals on the teams.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scienceor technical discipline with 5+ years of experience in engineering, researchdevelopment, or medical devices OR Advanced degree in engineering,science or technical discipline with 3+ years of experience in engineering,research development, or medical devices

**Nice to Have**

+ Previous experience leading cross functional projects or programs

+ Operations, Manufacturing, and/or design transfer experience

+ Design control back ground

+ Part 820 13485 experience

+ Audit experience

+ Knowledge of owning tasks in CAPAs or CAPA ownership, as well asNCR and PRB experience
