Siemens Mobility is investing $60 million in a first-of-its-kind, 300,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Horseheads, NY. This site will produce the American Pioneer 220—the first true high-speed trainsets built in North America—serving Brightline West’s Las Vegas to Southern California route. The facility will create approximately 300 high-quality jobs and redefine the future of U.S. rail manufacturing!We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our new Rolling Stock (RS) facility. This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the future of American rail by driving innovation, operational excellence, and a culture of ownership.What your day-to-day will look like:Lead all aspects of day-to-day operations at the Horseheads facility.Drive lean manufacturing practices and ensure safety, quality, and cost efficiency.Partner with Project Management and other departments to align business objectives.Develop and implement a multi-year strategic vision for the site, and identify opportunities for operational excellence and continuous improvement.Champion EH&S initiatives and promote an Ownership Culture.Build and maintain a strong operations team with excellent employee/labor relations.Manage operational expenses and deliver on budget targets.To thrive in this role, you have:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a similar relevant area is required; Advanced Degree is preferred.10+ years of experience in engineer-to-order, capital equipment manufacturing.Strong leadership and change management skills with experience in the rail industry, supplier management, and lean/quality tools (SAP, Excel, VSM, RCA, FMEA).Sophisticated understanding of performance management and team motivation.Willingness to travel 10–15% to customers, suppliers, and HQ.Key Candidate AttributesBased in the region—ideally located in Horseheads or the broader upstate New York area. The pay range for this position is $200,000 – $275,000 annually with a target incentive of 35 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
