We are looking a dynamic **Junior Category Analyst** to provide support to the Personal Health Division of Philips Canada.
**In this role, you will have the opportunity to:** Report to the Senior Category Development Manager and works alongside Sales, Marketing, and Trade Marketing.
**You are responsible for (but not limited to):**
+ Responsible for using the category development toolkit to understand and explain data and trends that will help improve business results, develop and deliver opportunities, and build future strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to proactively identify business opportunities and issues.
+ Key responsibility will be working with sales & marketing to provide actionable category analysis.
+ Analysis will include: building and communicating monthly scorecards and executive dashboards, understanding account-level trends, deep dives on key seasonal and promotional events, assortment and merchandising optimization, and communicating shopper insights.
+ Responsible for close interaction and support with external customers; may include category/vendor advisorship, validation, and unbiased & confidential customer interaction.
+ Internal customer support on new item launches, competitive & category tracking, line reviews, customer presentations, strategy formulation, performance tracking and analysis, and adhoc sales and marketing support.
+ Proactively leverage “best-practices” throughout the entire category development team
+ Assist with shopper insights projects driving improved merchandising and buyer conversion opportunities
**To succeed in this role, you will have the following skills and experience**
+ 1+ years experience in category development and analysis &/or sales/marketing experience preferably with a major CPG company or retailer
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
+ Experience with Nielsen, NPD, Space Management or planogramming software (ProSpace/Intercept, Apollo or Spaceman), retailer specific data (RetailLink, TopShelf, Toolbox, One Click Retail), CPG & Retail insights (Field Agent, Kantar, EuroMonitor, MarketTrack).
+ Strong understanding of shopper insight proposition and techniques and track record of delivering a commercial view of research projects
+ Microsoft Office, advanced ability with Excel, PowerPoint, database reporting
+ Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a cross functional environment
+ High energy and drive to succeed
