NASCAR Diversity Internship – Tracks & Industry Partners


The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) seeks the exceptional, the talented and the driven to contribute to its success as one of North America’s premier sports. Offering opportunities in various areas across the corporation, NASCAR encourages innovation and creativity on and off the track.

The NASCAR Diversity Internship Program (NDIP) is a 10-week, paid summer internship that targets diverse college students. NASCAR Diversity Interns contribute to the complex motorsports workforce; learn from leading NASCAR executives; and network with industry professionals.

Many participants secure full-time employment within NASCAR and the motorsports industry upon completion of the program.

Internship Dates: May-August 2018

What will I be doing?

The selected candidate will work directly with one of our NASCAR tracks or partners. Overall, this person will be actively engaged with ideation, planning, and execution of the 2018 race weekend(s) at the assigned track. Directly, they will activate grassroot marketing plans, develop strong sales skills, and be a part of broad -based strategic planning as it relates to brand building and revenue generation. In addition, interns will gain first-hand experience in event planning, communication and fan promotion.

Skills I need to bring to this role…

Must be an effective communicator, both written and oral, takes initiative and able to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. Comfortable in the use and application of social media for business related efforts. Basic knowledge of marketing and business as it relates to sports and entertainment.

Major Area of Study: Marketing, Business, Sports Management and/or Communications

Other preferred skills include: Strong social media knowledge

Who’s eligible?

At the time of application, all candidates must:

+ Be currently enrolled in, or be considered a recent graduate of, an undergraduate or graduate degree program

+ Be at least in their sophomore year of college and not more than one semester past their graduation

+ Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

+ We are seeking multicultural candidates for this role
