**We are looking for a Senior Power Systems Consultant** to join Grid Software’s Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS to the electrical grid and to perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for clients such as power producers, independent system operators, and transmission providers to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations.
**This is a remote position based in the Contiguous U.S.**
**You’ll make an impact as you:**
+ Perform transmission planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior.
+ Prepare detailed written reports describing analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations.
+ Work in small project teams, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and projects are completed within budget and schedule.
+ Develop automation scripts to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations and analysis.
+ Support proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
+ Deliver on-site technical consulting/training services.
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic qualifications:**
+ Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
+ At least one year of relevant experience in the electric power industry (time earning an advanced relevant degree and relevant internships may be considered towards the one-year experience requirement).
+ Practical experience using advanced power systems analysis tools.
+ Candidate must have knowledge (through experience, coursework, or applicable related internship) of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability.
+ Ability to travel 10% domestically.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Prior experience in Power System Consulting.
+ Prior experience in EMT study
+ Transmission system planning or operations experience.
+ Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
