The Production Planner 2 position is a pivotal role that utilizes Commercial Input and System requirements to create manageable, efficient plans for production while focusing on maximizing our customer experience. They will plan for some complex or higher number of work centers and provide informal coaching or mentorship for other team members.
This is a key onsite position in New Port Richey, FL, on the Materials team. You will execute DMS (Danaher Materials System) strategies at Gemba, implementing planning responsibilities that will drive production and other departments to meet on-time delivery performance, reduce past due and optimize inventory.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Responsible for production order creation (200 daily) and lifecycle management, including maintenance of production orders and schedules.
+ Working with PFEP (Plan for Every Part) Roadmap and guided by the Materials manager, become a SME on Kanban, deploying the process throughout your site, leading Kaizen and daily work with good depth of knowledge in the processes and procedures acting as a technical expert in the production area.
+ Right size inventory levels and problem solving the disconnect, upon the identification of material issues, over-design, and shortages and using problem-solving to identify & and implement countermeasures; proactively communicate to the site team.
+ Inventory, Past Due Forecasting – working with the rest of the materials team to provide a clear line of site, using PSP, to detail. Utilize IMAG and our SAP system to ensure critical materials are delivered on time, dates clearly visible and up to date in the system for team to utilization.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED 2+ years work experience in planning or supply chain
+ Experience in a continuous improvement environment
+ Demonstrated experience working in supply chain or logistics with various supplier/vendor contacts to ensure materials are delivered on time and in proper condition.
+ Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment and communicating cross-functionally including with production operations.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Previous experience expediting materials
+ Ability to remain organized, manage time and properly engage with suppliers and team members.
+ Good interpersonal communication skills in both written and verbal communications (Customer service background/experience preferred.
