The Scientist for Leica Biosystems is responsible for aspects of data generation to support the development of our product portfolio and thesuccessful candidates may find themselves working on a variety of projects as the need arises.This position reports to a R&D Manager and is part of the Research and Development team located in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UKand will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Work on a number of high priority projects and gain insight from others.

+ Become part of a team responsible for the generation of data for a specific project you are assigned to.

+ Learn how to design, perform and interpret experiments on the automated staining instrumentation.

+ Be part of a wider R&D organisation, gaining exposure to a variety of different project types.

+ Learn and implement the process of developing products within a regulatory environment.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ At least a year working within a laboratory environment or have experience working within a laboratory gained within Higher Education studies.

+ E xperience in immunoassay development, ideally immunofluorescent assay experience

+ Possess a Degree in a scientific subject.

+ Have knowledge of H&S and how this applies to Laboratory environments.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Experience of Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and ELISA

+ Experience of working within a regulated environment

+ Previous experience of assay development
