**Research Operations Manager**
**What you will do**
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will integrate and collaborate with key contacts in Research Scientific functional areas and Global Facilities Operations to deliver high level support relating to lab management, operational efficiency and cross site alignment.
This candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives in lab management support and strategy.
As an R&D Laboratory Operations representative you will collaborate with functional laboratory leadership, Lab Asset Management Program representatives, Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability representatives and site services points of contact to drive deliverables and lead execution.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Optimize laboratory asset management; utilizing data analytics to oversee asset lifecycle management; representing R&D functions on site specific lab and office space projects (renovations, reconfiguration, relocations and/or closures)
+ Manage functional equipment budgets and leading the R&D capital asset procurement process; representing R&D functional areas on site governance safety teams; participating in the management of the Controlled Substances program
+ Act as a conduit between functional areas and various operational support resources to address obstacles impacting daily efficiency as well as address systemic issues impacting lab operations.
+ Serve as project manager on various cross functional, cross site committees with representatives from scientific functions, R&D Operations and other Amgen areas.
Responsibilities include: collection and evaluation of lab instrument analytics, lab asset lifecycle management, execution of program deliverables/goals, and primary contact for issue resolution and support.

+ Associate’s Degree (Life Sciences or related) & 8 years of lab operations management or related industry experience – OR –
+ Bachelor’s Degree (Life Sciences or related) & 6 years of lab operations management or related experience (desired) – OR –
+ Master’s Degree (Live Sciences or related) & 4 years of lab operations management or related experience
+ Advanced communication and collaboration skills and abilities
+ Strong data analytics and ability to derive conclusions from the data
+ Ability to successfully lead teams
+ Self driven, initiative to proactively drive improvements and efficiency
+ Attention to detail
+ Collaborates, negotiates and persuades others, both internally and externally
+ Strong effectiveness while working in cross-functional, team matrix environment
+ Comfortable integrating and communicating with upper management
+ Excellent planning and organizational skills
+ Prioritization, time management, decision-making and problem solving
+ Proficient with MS Office tools (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, MS Teams, Visio and Outlook) and Smartsheet
+ Knowledge of regulatory (GLP and GCP) and pharmaceutical processes recommended
