**Role Description:**

Amgen’s Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) service maintains a growing fleet of more than eight thousand desktop instances supporting a broad range of requirements. The Software Engineer will work closely with the Virtual Desktop Service Owner and System Owner to design and develop automation solutions to facilitate VDI service management and optimize the end user experience.

**Roles & Responsibilities:**

+ Maintain existing C# and Python code hosted in Azure and AWS

+ Independently develop, test, and deploy code based on designs generated in collaboration with the Virtual Desktop team

+ Generate code documentation

+ Deploy and maintain a robust CI/CD solution

+ Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices

**What we expect of you**

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR

+ Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR

+ Diploma and 7 to 9 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience

+ Fluency in C#

+ Direct experience with cloud platform services including Azure or AWS (Azure preferred)

+ Strong knowledge of information systems and related technologies

+ Strong rapid prototyping skills and the ability to translate concepts into working code

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Working knowledge of Python

+ Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Cosmo DB

+ Familiarity with Python Boto3, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS

+ Understanding of REST APIs and Database services

+ Experience with API integration, serverless, and microservices architecture

+ Strong problem solving and analytical skills

+ Be willing and able to learn new technologies at a rapid pace

+ Understanding of desktop systems lifecycle and management

+ Experience with data visualization platforms (Power BI or Tableau)

**Soft Skills:**

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to work independently or in a team environment

+ High degree of initiative and self-motivation

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully

**Work Hours:** This position operates on the second shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST. Candidates must be willing and able to work during these hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
