Senior Scientist Process Development


**What you will do**

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will provide technical leadership and be responsible for conducting platform-based experiments for characterizing nucleic acid therapeutics. The candidate will be responsible and expected to drive continuous development and advancement of nucleic acid process platform through technological innovation and application of characterization methods that include but not limited to formulation, stability characterization, determination of critical quality attributes, solubility, aggregation and viscosity measurements. Responsibilities include:

+ Support early phase process development of nucleic acid and antibody-based therapeutics

+ Lead the efforts in preparing lipid nanoparticles and developing nucleic acid platform processes

+ Proactive approach to stay abreast of new technologies to evaluate and implement nucleic acid delivery methods

+ Excellent contribution to the development of new principles, concepts and functionalities and first intent/platforms to enable process development of antibody, and nucleic acid therapeutics

+ Active participation and representation of drug product process development group in cross-functional project teams across organization

+ Formulation development and characterization of targeted lipid nanoparticles encapsulating nucleic acid or synthetic therapeutics

+ Responsible for identifying and evaluating new opportunities for process innovation in oligonucleotides

+ Responsible for planning, design, execution of stability studies, process development and design, in use compatibility studies, FIH formulation studies and authoring CTA/IND filings

+ Continuous adherence to compliance and legal requirements while meeting organization’s goals and priorities

+ Identify and optimize unit operations to improve process robustness, throughput and cycle time to deliver high quality drugs for supporting portfolio advancement

+ Should serve as subject matter expert with hands-on experience in nucleic acid delivery, formulation and characterization, as well as process development

+ Explore new technologies for different modalities such as nucleic acids, mAb fragments, and fusion proteins


**What we expect of you**

Basic Qualifications:

+ Doctorate degree and 2 years of scientific experience OR Master’s degree and 5 years of scientific experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 7 years scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Doctorate in Molecular Medicine, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry or other relevant sciences with 2+ years of industry experience

+ Consistent track record problem solving and trouble shooting in bio-therapeutics discovery/development environment; Proven ability to independently identify, develop and implement scientific solutions to practical problems

+ Strong expertise in nucleic acid delivery and characterization

+ Track record of innovation; Proven eminence in the scientific community through a sustained record of peer reviewed publications and patents

+ Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Excellent verbal communication and scientific writing skills

+ Leadership experience of progressively increased scope and a demonstrated ability to inspire and lead a group of scientists to deliver on complex and challenging objectives in defined timelines would be strong plus

+ Proven success working with diverse team members in a dynamic, cross-functional environments and ability to learn and act at a rapid pace

+ Project leadership, strong problem solving and effective cross-functional communication skills with sense of urgency and passion
