The Senior Tenders & Contracts Specialist is responsible for leading end‑to‑end tenders and contracts activities for Spain, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant execution aligned with Cepheid’s commercial strategy, local regulations, internal policies, quality procedures and SOX requirements. Acting as a subject‑matter expert, this role plays a critical part in driving revenue, protecting margin and enabling sustainable deal closure.
This position reports to the Director, Tenders & Commercial Contracts EMEA and is part of the Tenders & Commercial Contracts EMEA organization. The role is based in Spain.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Independently lead and deliver complex tenders and commercial contracts end‑to‑end for Spain, ensuring compliant, competitive and high‑quality outcomes that support revenue growth and margin protection.
+ Act as a senior business partner and subject‑matter expert for Sales and cross‑functional stakeholders, providing clear guidance on risk, pricing, contracts and public procurement requirements.
+ Drive continuous improvement of tenders, contracts and pricing processes using DBS and Kaizen principles, applying structured problem-solving, data and insights to strengthen future tenders’ strategies.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Demonstrated experience managing tenders and commercial contracts end‑to‑end in complex, regulated and/or high‑volume environments, with the ability to independently own priorities and outcomes.
+ Strong commercial and compliance acumen, including public procurement processes, contracts administration, pricing governance and cross‑functional stakeholder management.
+ Fluency in English and Spanish with the ability to operate confidently in an international business environment (additional languages, including Catalan, are an advantage).
Training responsibilities (required):
+ Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time.
Travel, physical and other requirements:
+ Ability to travel occasionally, if required.
It would be a plus if you also possess:
+ Advanced experience in public procurement environments.
+ Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (DBS, Lean, Kaizen).
