The Sheet Metal Assembler I position is responsible for producing all components and custom fabrications from raw sheet metal using industry standard equipment such as punch presses, brake machines, shears, and deburring / grinding wheels to blueprint and work instruction specifications under supervision.
This position is part of the Pall Aerospace Sheet Metal department and will be located onsite in New Port Richey, FL. The work schedule is First Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM and overtime is routine.
This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Build complex aircraft parts and structural components to blueprint and work instructions using various hand and power tools and equipment.
+ Operate punch press, brake press, drill press, power shear, and band saw. Understand and use measuring equipment.
+ Complete all necessary documentation as required including scorecards, hazard recognitions, routers.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ High School diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
+ Aptitude for hands on work with proficiency in mechanical skills.
+ 2 years of sheet metal assembly experience forming and shaping parts to a mold using a bladder press and drilling, reaming, installing fasteners, and assembling metal parts. Basic math skills including geometry.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Good hand dexterity. Bending, lifting, sitting, standing and twisting for long periods of time.
+ Required to lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Lifting requirement: Daily.
+ Must be able to work with solvents, oils, and other chemicals as required
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Utilizing computer/computer applications to access necessary data.
+ Two (2) years of practical experience with procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment used in constructing, maintaining, or altering airframes.
