This Specialist position is part of the Standard Desalt and Purified Tubes Value Stream located in Coralville, Iowa and will be on site. At IDT, we are one global team. We celebrate our differences, engage in healthy debate, and are inclusive. Together, we accomplish great things.
Shift: Overnights Sunday – Wednesday 8:30pm-7am
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Lead the synthesis, processing, documentation and release of Non-Catalog (Platinum Oligo Service) and off-catalog oligos. In addition, assist with catalog oligos requiring special synthesis/processing through a manufacturing process rider. Assist in determining feasibility and quoting for Non-Catalog requests by attending Non-Catalog request/review meetings.
+ Collaborate with the Non-Catalog Process Owner, as needed, for development of new processes or requirements for Non-Catalog or off-catalog requests. Assist in tracking and actioning In-Flights, large orders, and other oligos that are impactful to Failure and OTD metrics.
+ Reviews synthesis failures daily to identify potential reworks, failure modes, and production trends. Assists the Process Owner in daily report reviews.
+ Initiate and assist with Synthesis projects, via Deviations and MOC’s, that aim to decrease oligo failures, improve OTD, improve oligo synthesis throughput and efficiency, and/or simplify the synthesis process.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ An associate degree in a science-related field (biology, chemistry, etc.) and 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ability to make decisions based on gained knowledge/experience that are not found in SOP’s in order to troubleshoot and action against various oligo failure modes.
+ Proficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (and an emphasis on Excel) required
It would be a plus if you also have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a science related field preferred.
+ Ability to fluctuate priorities throughout the workday, as well as balancing project work with production work as necessary.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
