Sr Manager, Lab Informatics & Benchtop Services
**What you will do**
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will have broad responsibility to develop global lab IT strategies and to guide a hardworking, multi-site team for its execution.
The Enterprise Benchtop team supports Amgen’s laboratory IT across global Research and Process Development labs. Our scope includes lab operations processes, lab data lifecycle, and lab instrument controller lifecycle, and cyber resiliency. The Enterprise Benchtop team is an integral part of Amgen’s R&D Informatics (R&DI) organization supporting Amgen’s scientific pipeline.
The R&DI team partners with R&D teams globally to develop innovative Technology and Data solutions to accelerate and grow Amgen’s pipeline of bio-pharmaceuticals. Our success in informatics is inspired by our commitment to our patients, to our business partners, and to use technologies that deliver critical business value.
+ Develop and maintain the roadmaps for Laboratory Informatics services. This includes solutions for managing and protecting Amgen’s raw instrument data throughout the data lifecycle as well as solutions for lab IT asset management and cyber resiliency.
+ Develop and lead high-performance multi-disciplinary teams that include Managers, Business Analysts, Lab Analysts and Software Engineers across North America Research and Process Development sites.
+ Develop, collect and report KPIs supporting lab processes globally across Amgen to improve the delivery and operations of EBS.
+ Accelerate implementation of IS strategy to leverage data and “city planning” core platforms and demonstrate a balanced portfolio of cost-effective and innovative solutions to support advances in Sciences.

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Informatics and/or Information Systems experience
Master’s degree and 6 years of Informatics and/or Information Systems experience
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Informatics and/or Information Systems experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Informatics and/or Information Systems experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Informatics and/or Information Systems experience
2 years of experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
+ 7+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, development, and management with an emphasis on software engineering, windows system administration, or IT infrastructure.
+ Demonstrated track record of designing and delivering innovative IT solutions that employ DevOps methodology
+ Strong written and oral communication skills and technical expertise to be able to communicate effectively with business and technology partners.
+ Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams and learn new domains.
+ Experience in program and project management including business case development and financial management during project implementation.
+ Working knowledge of biotech/pharma industry regulations
+ High learning agility, innovation, and analytical skills
+ Experience supporting and building solutions that are deployed in Cloud (e.g., AWS) environments
