The Sustainability Supply Chain Intern plays a key role in developing emissions baselines and advancing decarbonization initiatives in logistics, specifically in the area of packaging, to drive carbon reduction across the value chain.
This position reports to the Sustainability Supply Chain Leader and is part of the sustainability team. This position is in Whiteland, Indiana or Marlborough, Massachusetts.
What you will do:
+ Establish a global packaging baseline by collecting and analyzing data across worldwide distribution centers to enable consistent measurement and insight.
+ Develop and implement standard work for packaging data collection, ensuring scalable, long-term tracking while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Identify and reduce packaging waste and Scope 3 CO₂ emissions by mapping warehouse packaging processes and partnering with the Sustainability Strategy Leader and Supply Chain leaders on initiatives addressing ~95% of Cytiva’s total emissions.
Who you are:
+ Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Communications, Marketing, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related discipline.
+ Strong interest in sustainability, particularly related to packaging, logistics, and supply chain operations.
+ Ability to collect, clean, and analyze data to identify trends, insights, and continuous improvement opportunities.
+ Collaborative, results‑driven mindset, with foundational knowledge of supply chain or warehouse operations and interest in Lean tools (e.g., standard work, process mapping, value stream mapping) while effectively managing multiple priorities in a matrixed organization.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel up to one time during the internship
The hourly range for this role is $25-28. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
