We are looking for creative, highly motivated and hardworking Undergrad Coop student for a paid temporary assignment opportunity in our manufacturing operation – Amgen Manufacturing Limited at Juncos, Puerto Rico. AML is Amgen’s largest manufacturing site and the majority of products comprising Amgen’s current portfolio move through this outstanding biotechnology manufacturing facility.
It includes 5 manufacturing plants: a mammalian and a microbial bulk plants, a formulation and filling plant, a packaging plant and a small molecule proven dosage manufacturing plant.
**What you will do…**
This is an outstanding opportunity to gain learning and exposure to groundbreaking technology and advance processes that form the foundation of our state-of-the-art biotechnology facility.
The Undergrad Coop will work closely with the Information System team. Student will have the opportunity to support the Department’s continuous improvement initiatives/projects and daily operations support area within the AML Site and will interact with a multidisciplinary team. This role will report to a Specialist IS Bus Sys Analyst.
The Undergrad-COOP will apply the skills learned at the university in the pharmaceutical industry and learn new ones from hands on experience of work assignment.
Key skills include but are not limited to: communication, planning, organization, problem solving, team-working, data analysis, data monitoring etc. Will work and/or support real projects under supervision and guidance of highly skilled professionals that will help student to gain practical experience in the biotechnology industry.
The temporary COOP will be hired for a six months assignment and can be extended up to one year, as per business needs. Candidate selected will begin on June 2020.
**Your time with us will look something like this…**
+ Measuring and analyzing current systems/process performance
+ Improving operational efficiency and productivity
+ Identifying and implementing new process across departments/functions
+ Building business cases to support strategic direction
+ Support IS current projects/initiatives and run activities
+ Support to maintain detailed project plan and/or issue log and follow-up activities
+ Observe, monitor, document and communicate systems and process performance
+ Prioritize and present systems performance data to management team
+ Support the implementation of IS solutions, special projects or initiatives
+ Monitor and communicate systems incidents and/or trends
+ Participate in systems Root Cause Analysis investigations for systems events (i.e. Critique, 5 Whys -and/or One-point-lesson)
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (i.e. Kaizens and/or VSMs)
+ Other functions may be assigned in order to support business needs
**For this opportunity the basic requirements are:**
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information System, Computer Science, Computer, Mechanical, Software and or Electrical Engineering
+ Minimum GPA 3.00
+ Be enrolled in School
+ Availability to join us up to 1 year assignment
+ Have completed at least 3 years of college education
+ Bilingual (English / Spanish)
+ Collaboration, negotiation, persuasion, basic project management, ensuring completion and follow up
+ Proficiency in Share Point, and Excel software
