The Research Associate is responsible for generating cellular material for validation of Abcam’s antibody products, ensuring our products are validated in the optimal models for our customers
This position reports to the Head of Antibody Characterization and is located in Waltham, MA and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Perform mammalian cell culture of adherent and suspension cell lines to generate cellular material for antibody validation, conducting compound treatments where required to upregulate biomarkers
+ Generate QC lysates from cell pellets and tissue samples for use in antibody validation pipelines
+ Assist in developing and optimizing new cell treatments for improved antibody validation process
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ A B.S. and/or M.S. in a Life Sciences subject
+ Practical experience in culturing mammalian cells in an industrial environment
+ Excellent attention to detail with good organizational skills
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
+ Ability to travel – 15% travel, overnight.
+ Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 30lbs.
