You will analyze existing data flows and identify requirements for real-time and batch data exchange between edge devices and cloud platforms. Your work will include the development of a prototype system that enables efficient data sharing, storage, and access control across different manufacturing units and stakeholders. The architecture should support interoperability, data integrity, and latency optimization, and will be validated in a lab environment with real manufacturing data. You will implement a user-friendly frontend that allows users to select which data should be uploaded to the cloud, ensuring transparency and control over data sharing. Your defining qualities Education: You are currently enrolled in a technical or scientific degree such as computer science, information systems, or engineering sciences. Experience & Skills: You have good experience in programming (ideally Python or JavaScript) and are familiar with cloud platforms and edge computing concepts. Experience with industrial communication protocols and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage. Ways of working: You enjoy scientific work and are characterized by a structured and independent way of working. Languages: Very good written and oral English or German skills are required.
