The R&D Supervisor is responsible for to lead our newly established Microelectronics Filtration Technology team at the Center of Excellence in Singapore. This role involves setting up the new site by collaborating with partners on facilities, equipment, and operations, as well as managing R&D activities and driving New Product Development (NPD) for advanced filtration projects. The successful candidate will provide leadership within the team and cross-functionally to foster innovation, contribute to the NPD roadmap using semiconductor OEM application knowledge, and grow the team to develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification, and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor applications with targeted chemical purification.
This position reports to the Director, Science and is part of the Research and Development Team located in Benoi, Singapore and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Lead the R&D team to drive New Product Development (NPD) for semiconductor applications across core, adjacent, and transformational product segments globally.
+ Manage and adapt departmental plans to meet near- and mid-term NPD and strategic project priorities, overseeing one or more specialized teams.
+ Build and lead multi-functional global teams of scientists and engineers, fostering innovation and excellence while managing professional associates.
+ Solve technical and operational challenges and spearhead the development of new products and processes that enable next-generation technologies.
+ Apply semiconductor OEM and fab application knowledge in product development, leveraging sound fundamentals such as Design of Experiments (DOE).
+ Plan, budget, and manage resources while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams worldwide to ensure project success.
+ Act as a subject matter expert, maintaining strong team engagement, clear communication with stakeholders, and resolving customer issues effectively.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Holds a BS in Science or Engineering with minimum 8 years of R&D/product development experience, or MS/PhD with at least 5 years of experience.
+ Demonstrated expertise in Semiconductor OEM or Fab Equipment Processes, with proven experience in WEC or Lithography topics.
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decision-making without direct authority; measurable success in delivering NPD projects.
+ Strong communication skills, evidenced by clear, concise reports and presentations to senior leadership and global teams.
+ Demonstrated analytical problem-solving capability, including structured root cause analysis and implementation of innovative solutions.
+ Track record of collaborating across global teams to achieve project milestones and drive innovation.
+ Ability to travel up to 10% nationally and internationally as required by project needs.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Hands-on experience applying Design of Experiments (DOE) or similar structured methodologies in product development.
+ Prior experience serving as a subject matter expert to resolve complex customer issues.
