The Software Engineer I is responsible for

+ Develop and enhance build scripts, tools, and workflows to automate software compilation, packaging, and deployment.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and operations, to define and improve the build and release process. Also manage and configure build servers, version control systems, and artifact repositories.

+ Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize build and release processes to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

This position reports to the DevOps Engineering Manager and is part of the Beckman DevOps Team located in IDC, Bangalore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and operations, to define and improve the build and release process.

+ Develop and enhance build scripts, tools, and workflows to automate software compilation, packaging, and deployment.

+ Manage and configure build servers, version control systems, and artifact repositories.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science & Engg (CSE), Computer Science & Information Security (CSIS), Computer Networking & Engg (CNE), Software Engg (SE) or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with B.Sc Computer Science or Electronics.

+ Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on build and release management.

+ Knowledge of building automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo) and version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).

+ Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and build process customization.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Linux administration

+ Kubernetes knowledge
