As an intern with the **Electrification and Automation (EA)** division of **Siemens Smart Infrastructure** , you’ll gain **hands-on experience** supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow – all within a **collaborative, impact-driven environment.**

**We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Manufacturing Engineering Internship beginning May or June 2026. This program is based in Wendell, NC.**

**You’ll make an impact by:**

+ Supporting the collection and analysis of manufacturing data to establish key performance indicators used by team members and management.

+ Working closely with manufacturing team members and an assigned Manufacturing Engineer to develop, communicate, and refine performance metrics and operational insights.

+ Assisting with material flow analysis from raw material receipt through fabrication and delivery to production lines.

+ Conducting time studies and process mapping to identify opportunities for efficiency, capacity improvement, and workflow optimization.

+ Collaborating daily with fabrication teams to support logistics, production planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI.

+ Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.

+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

+ Eligible candidates must be within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Exposure to manufacturing or fabrication environments.

+ Familiarity with process mapping, time studies, or continuous improvement methodologies.

+ Interest in manufacturing logistics, capacity planning, or production flow optimization.

+ Experience collaborating with cross-functional manufacturing teams.

+ Attention to detail and ability to support data-driven decision making.
