**Senior Manager Strategic Planning & Operations (SP&O) – Drug Substance Technologies (DST)**
**What you will do**
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role you will be primarily responsible for the organization’s strategic planning across a diverse set of activities and engineering disciplines. As a member of the DST Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the VP of DST, this role will serve as a business liaison within DST, including sub-functions and will be accountable for the functional budget, resource forecasting, and capacity management. The DST Sr. Manager, SP&O will be managing staff and will be asked to lead and execute strategic projects as necessary.
This position will be located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
**Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Lead and manage the Lab Operations team and supervise a Senior Project Management Coordinator.
+ Serve as Chief of Staff to the DST Vice President.
+ Act as a strategic and operational business partner to functional leadership teams.
+ Leverage deep understanding of DST organizations and accountabilities to lead development of resource, forecasting models, and analyze capacity and demand.
+ Partner with functional leaders to ensure workload assumptions are accurately captured, forecasted, and reflected in planning outputs.
+ Own DST resource forecast data analysis and ongoing administration/sustainment of forecasting processes and tools.
+ Manage DST capital and expense budgets end-to-end, including target setting, forecasting, performance tracking, and reporting.
+ Accountable for headcount tracking and reporting, and lead development and oversight of functional targets and shape targets.
+ Establish mechanisms to monitor progress against departmental goals, objectives, and key results, and proactively communicate risks and mitigation plans.
+ Plan and facilitate DST SLT and XLT meetings, off-sites, and strategy sessions in partnership with the DST Leadership Team, including agendas, minutes, action-item tracking, and follow-through.
+ Develop executive-level presentations and provide project management leadership for high-priority initiatives.
+ Drive adoption and implementation of new digital tools to increase collaboration, and operational efficiency.
+ Ensure timely, effective cross-functional collaboration and information flow across DST and key stakeholders.

**Basic Qualifications:**
Doctorate degree and 2 years of project management, and/or strategic planning operations experience
Or
Master’s degree and 6 years of project management, and/or strategic planning operations experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of project management, and/or strategic planning operations experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of project management, and/or strategic planning operations experience
Or
High School Diploma / GED and 12 years of project management, and/or strategic planning operations experience
And
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or broader healthcare industry, including direct Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) and/or Design Controls experience.
+ Demonstrated ability to build alignment, foster collaboration, and partner effectively with cross-functional leaders and teams.
+ Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
+ Proven critical thinking, strategic mindset, and structured problem-solving capabilities.
+ Deep expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, including experience supporting senior/executive stakeholders.
+ Advanced proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
