We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer, Software Engineering to serve for our manufacturing software systems. This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing the software tools and infrastructure that are essential for producing our complex molecular diagnostic devices at scale.
You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of manufacturing software—from architecting test automation frameworks and calibration routines to designing the databases that store critical production data. You will be the key technical bridge between R&D and Operations, translating complex product designs into robust, validated software solutions for the factory floor and field service teams.
This position is part of the Software/ Firmware Engineering team located in Bengaluru, IDC, India and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Architect and implement instrument manufacturing test software, including system‑level design, modular architecture definition, and integration with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and hardware interfaces
+ Develop and maintain automated test frameworks, diagnostic tools, and manufacturing software utilities, including defining technical strategy for automation coverage, tool scalability, and codebase maintainability
+ Lead development of manufacturing test solutions across cross‑functional engineering groups by defining technical requirements, reviewing system designs, and ensuring alignment with instrument, firmware, and hardware specifications
+ Execute and document manufacturing software validation activities in collaboration with SQA, including protocol creation, test execution, defect verification, and completion of validation packages for regulated releases
+ Support software implementation and controlled release processes by preparing release documentation, coordinating deployment to manufacturing environments, and ensuring compliance with internal quality system requirements
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 6+ years (MS) or 8+ years (BS) of software development experience focused on manufacturing test, hardware‑in‑the‑loop simulation, or test automation
+ Expert‑level proficiency in object‑oriented programming using C#/C++, Java, or Python
+ Deep knowledge of WPF and hands‑on experience with industrial communication protocols including CAN, Modbus, and TCP/IP
+ Demonstrated experience developing software that interfaces with and controls physical hardware and test equipment in production or test environments
+ Strong experience with SQL database design and data management for production systems, with additional knowledge of cloud program development and PostgreSQL master/secondary RDS setup and configuration
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Direct experience developing software under a diagnostic/ medical device quality management system (ISO 13485).
+ Familiarity with the requirements for software validation in an FDA-regulated environment.
+ Experience working in a regulated industry such as diagnostic/ medical devices, aerospace, or automotive.
