Purpose

The Technical Sales Specialist (GWE) is responsible for driving commercial growth of IDT’s Gene Writing & Editing portfolio, with primary focus on the Korea & Japan market while also supporting broader APAC coverage. This role partners closely with Territory Sales Team and the APAC Regional Portfolio Lead to execute defined regional growth priorities and accelerate revenue expansion across the GWE portfolio.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Meet or exceed assigned quarterly and annual revenue targets for the GWE portfolio across APAC, with defined focus on priority markets, i.e. Korea & Japan , as assigned .

+ Partner with Territory Sales Managers across APAC to identify, qualify, scope, and close complex GWE opportunities, including gene synthesis, custom solutions, and genome editing workflows.

+ Execute commercial initiatives aligned with the APAC GWE strategy and regional growth priorities in collaboration with the APAC Regional Portfolio Lead.

+ Build and maintain strong technical and commercial relationships with key accounts across APAC to accelerate adoption of the GWE portfolio across SynBio, CRISPR, and Functional Genomics applications.

+ Provide deep product, application, and workflow consultation, positioning IDT GWE solutions to address complex scientific and commercial customer needs.

+ Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Product Management, and Customer Success, while contributing structured market insights and customer feedback to inform regional portfolio and BU strategy.

The essential requirements of the job include

+ Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, Synthetic Biology, Biotechnology, or related Life Science field (Advanced degree preferred).

+ Proficient in English language communication.

+ Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial experience in life sciences, with demonstrated success in technical sales or specialist roles.

+ Strong technical expertise in synthetic biology, and gene synthesis workflows, including gene fragment and custom DNA solutions. Familiar with genome editing applications (eg. CRISPR) and functional genomics solutions is advantageous.

+ Ability to translate technical project requirements into commercially viable proposals in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

It would be a plus if you also possess experience in:

+ Prior sales management or key account management experience preferred.

+ Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of customers.
