The Test Architect is responsible for hands‑on system verification and quality assurance across complex software systems. This role emphasizes deep manual testing expertise, ownership of test Strategy ,execution and defect investigation, and practical application of automation fundamentals and AI‑assisted testing tools. The position offers opportunities to work closely with development and automation teams while mentoring testers through execution‑driven leadership.

This position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and is part of the Software Department team located in Bangalore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Plan and execute hands‑on testing by defining test plans, test scenarios, test data, and detailed manual test cases/scripts for functional, integration, system, and regression testing.

+ Lead execution of formal test cycles, including writing and reviewing Software Verification Plans and participating in large‑scale release verification activities.

+ Own defect investigation end‑to‑end, including issue reproduction, detailed defect documentation, root‑cause analysis support, and verification of fixes across the full system.

+ Contribute early in the development lifecycle by participating in requirements, architecture, and design reviews to ensure testability and risk coverage.

+ Troubleshoot across the complete test system, including UI, services, integrations, and database layers, using test and defect management tools.

+ Support automation outcomes by executing and maintaining existing automation test suites (functional, integration, regression, performance, and UI), analyzing failures, and identifying candidates for automation based on manual test insights.

+ Apply modern testing enablers by using foundational automation knowledge and AI‑assisted testing tools (e.g., test idea generation, exploratory testing support, defect analysis) to improve efficiency and coverage, while mentoring team members through hands‑on guidance.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

+ 14+ years of hands‑on experience in manual testing and system verification of complex software systems.

+ Strong working knowledge of RDBMS concepts, including hands‑on SQL, with experience using Oracle and/or SQL Server.

+ Hands‑on experience with test management and defect tracking tools, including execution tracking, defect triage, and reporting.

+ Foundational knowledge of test automation concepts (frameworks, execution, result analysis) and exposure to AI‑assisted testing tools or workflows used in quality engineering.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Working in Agile/Scrum environments, with ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent.

+ Maintaining or supporting UI and/or API automation suites, including analysis of flaky tests and coverage gaps.

+ Testing distributed or integrated systems involving multiple services, databases, and user interfaces.
