The Scientist II will report to the Senior Manager of Analytical Development and play a pivotal role that bridges innovative R&D and specialized analytical services supporting internal programs and external partners. This position contributes directly to the preclinical development of novel lipid nanoparticle (LNP) therapeutics, while also delivering high‑quality analytical insights to BioPharma Services (BPS) clients.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced analytical scientist who is motivated by scientific curiosity, real‑world therapeutic impact, and hands‑on access to state‑of‑the‑art analytical technologies. You will push the boundaries of what’s possible in nanomedicine design while shaping analytical innovation in a rapidly growing field.

This is a full time on-site position located at Cytiva’s Nanomedicine Center located in Vancouver, BC.

What you’ll do:

+ Support BPS’ CDMO services by performing advanced bio‑analytical characterization techniques, such as UHPLC‑CAD, UHPLC‑PDA, SEC‑MALS, CE, LC‑MS/MS, and LC‑HRMS, to generate deep insights into nanomaterials including LNPs, liposomes, and polymeric nanoparticles.

+ Interpret and communicate analytical observations to both internal and external partners

+ Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and/or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation

+ Ideate new analytical assays and capabilities consistent with driving analytical innovation in the nanoparticle field

+ Contribute to efficient lab operations such as record keeping, inventory management, resource allocation, procurement, and associate training

Who you are:

+ MSc in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of industry experience.

+ Extensive liquid chromatography experience with HPLC- (UV, CAD, FLR), LC-MS, LC-HRMS, and/or SEC-MALS is a must; experience with Empower, Chromeleon, ASTRA, SCIEXOS, and/or XCalibur software packages is preferred

+ Experience in an analytical service provider role is a significant asset

+ Proven track record of analytical method development and assay suitability testing as per ICH/ FDA/ EMA guidelines

+ Deep and diverse expertise in biomolecule (E.g. Nucleic Acids, proteins, mABs), lipid, and excipient (Buffers, stabilizers, etc.) chemistry, ideally relating to Lipid Nanoparticles

The salary range for this role is $85,000-105,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
