The Upstream Field Application Specialist for Cytiva is responsible for performing advanced post-installation hands-on training and consulting for customers.

This position is part of the Bioprocess Customer Application Support team located in Europe, responsible for EMEA, and will be remote. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

+ Actively support the sales process by advising in sales discussions, giving presentations and hands-on cell culture demonstrations for Cytiva´s Upstream product portfolio: Xcellerex XDR and X-platform as well as WAVE bioreactor systems and the ReadyToProcess (RTP) platform

+ Perform advanced post-installation hands-on training and consulting for customers; deliver high level hands-on application support to bioreactor customers and support with process optimization and process transfer to Cytiva’s single use bioreactors; provide expert technical support for users, e.g., troubleshooting, including extended on-site process-connected problem solving

+ Deliver input to Marketing, R&D and Management with particular focus on customer comments, market info and competitor practices; develop and present ideas for improvements and new solutions – technical developments and demands, new processes and unit operations; provide industrially-focused cell culture, bioreactor and application training for Cytiva personnel, as requested

+ Participate in and support global initiatives in education, consulting and technical support; prepare, execute and wrap up Standard and Custom courses, lecturing and hands-on lab work/teaching required; contribute to updating and development of new courses, practical exercises and course materials

Who you are:

+ Educated in Life Sciences with University level, MSc or equivalent; with at least 3 years’ experience in Upstream processing in a large-scale industrial environment

+ Experienced in research, development and manufacturing in pharma, biopharma or biotech with a focus on cell culture and bioreactors. You have extensive bioreactor hands-on experience on an expert level, preferably with single-use bioreactors and mammalian cells; experience in cell culture process development, scale-up and single-use bioreactors

+ Fluent in English and preferably at least one other European language

+ Must be prepared to travel up to 70 %, mainly in Europe.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Hands-on experience of Cytiva’s Upstream product range

+ Experience with single-use mixers
