Position Title: Solution Engineer
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week
Summary of Duties: Analyze client specifications for electrical engineering-related applications and adjusts the oneline and schematic diagrams accordingly. This includes analyzing the application of siemens’ medium voltage switchgear products along with its associated protection and control systems to design appropriate product solutions to meet client expectations. Create all documents pertaining to client review/approval and the manufacturing of medium voltage switchgears. Utilize engineering configuration software to prepare one-line drawings, control schematics, and bill of material. Coordinate with other engineers, designers, and drafters. Provide technical support during the manufacture of projects to ensure that the final deliverable is true to design and in accordance with client requirements. 20% domestic and international travel. Hybrid work permitted.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Alternately will accept a Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Position requires experience with the following: experience working with the design/configuration of electrical power distribution products and systems with emphasis on protection & controls for medium voltage switchgear; Fundamental understand of ANSI, IEEE, UL, NEC, and NEMA standards for MV switchgear; Electrical drafting experience with AutoCAD Electrical, or similar; Ability to read, understand one-line, and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements; Experience creating and working with smart CAD blocks.
