Description

**Job purpose**

+ Lead and shape medical strategy and plan for product and therapeutic area.

+ Provide strategic medical input into brand strategy, lifecycle management, and portfolio discussions.

+ Represent the Japan medical perspective in global and regional discussions.

+ Lead evidence generation, publication, and key scientific activities.

+ Provide medical leadership across cross-functional teams and support capability development within Medical Affairs.

**Responsibilities**

+ Develop and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, scientific experts, and other relevant external stakeholders.

+ Lead the development and execution of medical strategy and medical activities.

+ Provide strategic medical input into launch and lifecycle management plans.

+ Identify evidence gaps and lead evidence generation and publication activities.

+ Lead advisory boards, scientific meetings, and other key medical programs.

+ Provide medical expertise for marketed products, pipeline assets, and value/access-related activities.

+ Synthesize scientific evidence and external insights to inform medical and cross-functional decision-making.

+ Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence relevant internal and external stakeholders.

+ Mentor and guide medical colleagues as appropriate.

+ Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Amgen policies, compliance, regulations, and ethical standards.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Advanced degree in life sciences or relevant area, or equivalent education and professional experience.

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or a related pharmaceutical function.

+ Strong scientific and medical expertise.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead medical strategy and cross-functional initiatives.

+ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

+ Proficiency in Japanese and English.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, RWD/RWE, and evidence generation.

+ Expertise in rare disease or relevant therapeutic areas.

+ Experience in product lifecycle management and collaboration with global/regional teams.

+ Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
